Ice skating

My Mum had recently shown me some great figure skating artists and I immediately fell in love with the beautiful, elegant movements. So I decided to give animation another try and capture at least a tiny bit of the action!

I feel like Papyrus is much harder to animate than Sans because his long limbs make proportional errors a lot more obvious and you can't just hide any mistakes under a fluffy jacket. Yet I think that he translates pretty well into this silhouette style and I'm proud of the result! Adding the scarf was probably the biggest challenge. It took me several attempts to draw a movement of the cloth that looked sort of okay.

This was the first time I used Pencil2D to create an animation. The drawing process itself was pretty comfortable once I had gotten used to the controls, but what really bothered me was the fact that you can't export a finished GIF, only a series of PNGs (which was a big problem because the program I use to arrange animations doesn't support PNGs).
If any of you know a really good freeware for animation, I'd love to know about it!
